Decided the Airedoodle, as cute as it was, just was not going to stem my desire for an Airedale. Soooo, still in the market.
It's so very hot here lately. Really worried about Captain, who just stands around in the kiddie pool most of the time trying to keep cool, which is really hard to do when the temperature is in the 90s and the humidity has been 100% a couple of mornings. I just moved the pool into the yard where I can put a fan on him. You can tell he's feeling puny by his ears and the way he is standing. I had asked my farrier if she would help me shear him this weekend since I failed at trying to do it myself, but cancelled because I thought either Captain or Dell or I would stand a pretty good chance of having a heatstroke. So now I'm feeling guilty for not having taken care of this chore earlier and seeing him suffer. Just hope I don't lose him.
Am reaping the consequence of running around searching for the baby goat Randy thought had been killed by a fox (last story). I'm covered with chiggers (or chiggros as a friend of mine used to say -- forgive my reference -- it was a long time ago -- MMCohn for those of you who may remember this particular friend). I removed 6 or 7 ticks from my body and, as for the chiggers, have tried alcohol (out first, then in when that didn't work :), hand-sanitizer someone had suggested, hydrocortisone cream, Benadryl lotion, fingernail polish remover, Caladryl, a natural salve made by a person in my office and Oil of Oregano that I found in my bathroom cabinet. Don't remember what I had gotten that for, but it actually has helped a bit. I HATE CHIGGERS!
Still on maternity watch for Cody. Looks to me like like her udder could explode any minute. Don't know what she's waiting for.
