The Art of Farming

YES
NO

There is a saying up here, "Ozark engineering."  (We used to call it something else [politically incorrect before there was a politically incorrect and totally inappropriate] growing up on the farm.)  When you have large livestock and you are engaged in rotational grazing, you end up with a concentration of manure in your pastures in various areas.  With no tractor to spread the manure, you do it the Ozark way -- when you walk your pastures you kick the patties to spread the manure.  It's very important to know, thus "art," when the patties are ready to be kicked.  Too late and you either hurt your toes or the patties fly through the air in one big dinner-sized-plate clump.  Too early and you get a boot covered with. . . well you get the picture.
