Anticipating some very bad weather, I spent Christmas Eve morning trying to get prepared -- fixed a temporary fence so that the cows could have access to part of the barn -- called to get hay for the cows -- put together a new hay ring that goes around a round bale (a large three-piece medal thingie that had to be bolted together (in the pouring down rain) -- got all but three of the goats into the large barn -- searched for the donkeys and found them in the woods -- walked them to the barn -- coaxed the three goats out of the little milk barn and lead them to the larger barn where the rest of the goats were -- went in and took off my very wet clothes.
Kept waiting all afternoon for my neighbors to deliver the bale of hay promised. Meanwhile Little Bit, one of my cows, jumped over the fence into the yard where there was better grass. I ushered her out, put up some barriers where she had gotten over, and by the time I took off my wet clothes for the second time, she was back in the yard. By this time I had decided my neighbors weren't coming, so I fixed the fence so that all the cows could come eat in the yard and then be able to get back to the barn when the sleet and snow came. Went back in and took of my very wet clothes.
Dennis (who has helped me do lots in my house and on the farm) called to wish me a Merry Christmas and remind me to close my vents because of the extremely low windchill factor predicted. So, once again I took my clothes out of the dryer, put them back on, got my flashlight and found some Styrofoam in my shed, broke it into pieces and put it over my vents. Went back in and took of my very wet clothes.
I had had lunch with Kay Wednesday and she gave me a large bottle of wine to take to Katherine's for Christmas. I didn't make it to NLR, so thanks Kay:)
LOL! Joy to the world with wine!
